Support Nadia running the Berlin Marathon on September 24th 2023
Nadia is so honoured to be participating in this year's full distance IRONMAN in Cardiff 2024 and fundraising for Alzheimer's Research UK.
Our brains control everything we think, feel, remember and do.
There are diseases that stop a person’s brain from working properly. When a person has one of these diseases, they may have problems thinking, remembering and speaking. They might say or do things that seem strange to others, and find it harder to do everyday things. They may not seem like the person they used to be.
Dementia is not something that just happens to everyone as they get older. It is caused by different diseases. These diseases affect different parts of the brain, so they affect people in different ways. And diseases can be prevented.
Your support will allow Alzheimer's Research UK fund thousands of dementia researchers based across the UK and the world. This work fits into three themes that will drive us towards a cure - treat, diagnose and prevent. We have all been affected by someone with this debilitating disease which strips the most precious thing away from us, our memory. And Nadia is honoured to be working with Alzheimer's Research UK to help them further the incredible work they do.
An Ironman Triathlon is one of a series of long-distance triathlon races organized by the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC), consisting of a 2.4-mile (3.9 km) swim, a 112-mile (180.2 km) bicycle ride and a marathon 26.22-mile (42.2 km) run completed in that order, a total of 140.6 miles (226.3 km). It is widely considered one of the most difficult one-day sporting events in the world. Most Ironman events have a time limit of 16 or 17 hours to complete the race, course dependent. The mandatory cut off time to complete the 2.4-mile (3.86 km) swim is 2 hours 20 minutes. The mandatory bike cut off time for when an athlete must have completed their swim, transition and bike varies generally between 10 hours and 10 hours 30 minutes from when an athlete began their swim. The mandatory run cut off varies between 16 and 17 hours from when athlete began their swim. Many races will also have intermediate bike, run, and transition cut off times specific to each race venue. Any participant who completes the triathlon within these time constraints is designated an Ironman.
Nadia's goal for this year is to take on 'The Dragon' Ironman Cardiff on September 22 this year in aid of raising crucial funds for Alzheimer's Research.

Nadia recently ran The Berlin Marathon on the 24th of September for Get Kids Going
Her recent Charity Fundraising concert raised a hefty £1000 for the charity. Nadia is passionate about promoting health and fitness and giving children the opportunities to be active and enjoy sports as much as she does, disabled or not!
Get Kids Going! is a national charity which gives disabled children and young people, up to the age of
26 years, the wonderful opportunity of participating in sport. They provide them with specially built sports wheelchairs so they can do: athletics, marathons, tennis, skiing, curling, rugby, sailing, boccia, basketball, snowboarding, table tennis, fencing, shooting, archery, powerlifting and many more sports. Get Kids Going! inspires disabled youngsters to compete in sporting events, from start to paralympic level, by also giving them sports grants to help with their: training, physiotherapy, sports psychology, travel, competition fees and the design and development of sports’ equipment. With your help many can become world record holders and paralympic champions!
Help Nadia continue to raise for this wonderful charity! Each donation includes a free download.
